Preparation of Falafel

Chickpeas

300 g dried chickpeas Soak for 24h. Important: Do not use pre-cooked chickpeas from a tin or. use the glass.

Sesame

Roast 10 dag Sesame without fat in a pan, stirring constantly, until light brown.

Falafel batter

Finely mince the chickpeas with 2 Onions, 8 cloves Garlic, 1 bunch Parsley, the sesame seeds and 1 tsp Salt using a mincer. Knead everything well and chill for several hours.

Bake falafel

Heat the Oil in a pan or deep fryer. Knead 1 package Baking powder into the falafel dough, shape into walnut-sized patties and fry in the oil for approx. 5-10 minutes until golden brown. To begin with, only swirl the pan gently, once the falafel are lightly browned, turn them over with a spoon. Don't bake too many falafel at once.
