Preparation of Buchteln
Yeast dough
Stir 0.13 L Milk, 20 g Yeast, 2 tbsp Flour and 1 tsp Sugar into a starter dough and keep warm.
Dissolve 80 g Butter, 50 g Sugar and 1 package Vanilla sugar in 1 L of warm Milk and leave to cool until lukewarm.
Add the milk and 3 egg yolks to the starter dough and knead to a smooth dough using 500 g Flour.
Leave the dough to rise and then knead again.
Forming buns
- Jam, Butter
Divide the yeast dough into equal pieces.
Shape the pieces of dough into balls, filling them with Jam according to taste.
Brush the individual buns with liquid Butter and place them close together in a buttered baking dish.
Bake Buchteln
- Powdered sugar
Bake the Buchteln in the oven at 180°C for approx. 30 minutes.
The golden brown buns after baking.
Remove the buns from the tin and serve sprinkled with Powdered sugar.
