Preparation of Apple strudel
Strudel dough
Knead 20 dag Flour, 130 ml Water and 1 tbsp Oil into a smooth dough.
Brush the dough with Oil, cover and leave to rest in a warm place for 1 hour.
Smooth wheat flour is best for the flour, then the dough can be pulled well.
The dough tears more easily with wholemeal flour.
Pull out the strudel dough

Roll out the strudel dough on a large cloth (e.g. a sheet) dusted with Flour to a thickness of approx. 5 mm.
Turn the dough over and carefully pull it apart piece by piece under the backs of both hands.
Make sure that the dough is pulled evenly.
Apple strudel filling
10 dag Butter Melt.
Spread half of it on the strudel dough.
1.5 kg apples peel and cut into small pieces.
Mix the apples with 10 dag Raisins, 5 dag Sugar and etwas Cinnamon.
Spread the filling evenly over the strudel dough in a rectangular shape.
Fold in the overhanging parts of the round pastry on three sides.
Rolling apple strudel
Roll up the apple strudel from one longer side (opposite the side that is not folded in) by lifting the cloth.
Lift the apple strudel into a buttered baking dish and brush with the remaining butter.
Bake apple strudel
Bake the apple strudel in the oven at 180°C for 30-45 minutes (depending on the thickness of the strudel).
