Preparation of Fried onion
Cut onion
- 2 Onions
Cut 2 Onions into fine strips.
These should be as even as possible, preferably cut with a vegetable slicer.
Braise onion
- Oil
Braise in plenty of Oil or lard over a medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring constantly.
When the onions start to color, continue to roast on the highest setting for a few minutes until light brown.
Remove from the fat with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen roll or in a sieve.
Caution: Do not roast too dark, the onions will still darken.
